About Antioch, California

The charming city of Antioch, formerly known as East Antioch, Smith’s Landing, and Marshs Landing, is the second largest city in Contra Costa County, California located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area along the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta.

With a population of over 100,000 people, Antioch has become the heart of Eastern Contra Costa County, offering a variety of employment, shopping and vast recreational activities. Land remains plentiful and affordable, compared with other parts of the Bay Area. Antioch is one of the few Bay Area communities that offers affordable housing. There are a variety of house styles throughout Antioch, from condominiums to single family residences, priced for a variety of income levels.

Antioch is known as the gateway to the California Delta which is also the section where the San Joaquin and the Sacramento Rivers join before flowing into the Pacific Ocean. As a result, people can expect some gorgeous vistas over the waterways around the city as well as picturesque scenery in this part of Contra Costa County, which has long had a tradition of agriculture due to the abundant and fertile lands in the area.
