About Lake Elsinore, California

Lake Elsinore is a city in western Riverside County, California with a population of approximately over 60,000 as of 2017. Established as a city in 1888, it is on the shore of Lake Elsinore, a natural freshwater lake about 3,000 acres in size. This lake is situated in the center of town and is a popular destination for people interested in a variety of activities, including adventure sports and water sports. The City is known for its pleasant weather year-round and for being home to the largest lake in Southern California.

The City is also known for its stunning scenery such as the Ortega Mountains and the Elsinore Mountains. The natural landscape, lake, and ideal weather conditions make it the perfect hub for many activities including boating, skydiving, hang-gliding, jet-skiing, waterskiing, fishing, bird watching, hiking, and biking.

One of the first outlet centers in California was established in northwestern Lake Elsinore in the late 1990s on Collier Avenue at Nichols Road, just off Interstate 15. The center, known as the Outlets at Lake Elsinore, has a wide variety of retailers, encompassing clothing and shoe stores, eateries, bookstores, perfumeries, home and garden boutiques, and electronics stores.
