About Brentwood, California

Brentwood is a city located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area with a population of 51,481 as of 2010.

Incorporated in 1948, the City of Brentwood is a charming and desirable community for residents and businesses alike. It began as a community in the late 19th century. The community is still known throughout the Bay Area for its agricultural products – primarily its cherries, corn and peaches. Due to urban sprawl many of the old farms and orchards have been replaced by suburban developments since 1990.

The City provides a full range of services including Police, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Economic Development, Planning, Construction, Code Enforcement, Housing and General Administrative Programs. Fire protection services are provided by the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District to the City of Brentwood. The City manages public water and wastewater systems as well as a recycling system and provides collection and disposal of waste.
