Oroville is the county seat of Butte County, California with an estimated population of 20,737 at the 2019 census. The City is considered the gateway to Lake Oroville and Feather River recreational areas. Oroville has a nickname of the “City of Gold.” It has also been a Tree City USA for 38 years by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
