About Wildomar, California

Wildomar is a city in Riverside County, California with a population of 32,176 as of the 2010 census. Located in a fast-growing area, it was incorporated as a city on July 1, 2008. The name Wildomar was coined from one of the names of the three founders: Wil is from Willam Collier, Do is from Donald Graham, and Mar is from Margaret Collier Graham. Wildomar was an outpost for the pony express for the Butterfield Stage in the early part of last century. It was also a stop for the Southern California Railroad. After the tracks washed out, the growth of the city slowed, and it became a farming and ranching area.

The City is home to The Wildomar Library which is one of 35 branches in the Riverside County Library System. The library opened in 2001 and was originally called the Mission Trail Library. In 2014, the County Board of Supervisors voted to change the name to the Wildomar Library.
