About Santa Clarita, California

The city of Santa Clarita is the third-largest city in Los Angeles County, and the 21st-largest in the state of California.

Since incorporation in 1987, thirty-two communities positioned adjacent to the City have annexed into the city of Santa Clarita, adding a total of 18.1 square miles to the city. As of the 2019 census it had an estimated population of 212,979. The increase in population can be attributed to the aforementioned annexations, birth rates and residents moving into Santa Clarita. It is a notable example of a U.S. edge city or boomburb.

Santa Clarita is known for the Six Flags Magic Mountain Amusement Park, which is popular due to the number of roller coasters available in the theme park. Furthermore, the scenery in Santa Clarita is one of the most stunning in the region, and for that reason, many western movies were filmed in the city.
